Nestled in breathtaking Island Park Idaho, Lakeside Lodge and Resort offers a wide range of outdoor activities almost every season of the year! Take a day trip to West Yellowstone located only 30 miles away!

With a full commercial kitchen led by our experienced Chefs, we offer fine dining as well as the best burgers and bar menu in town. After eating, join us in the Lakeside Bar where all your flavors of beer, wine, and spirits are offered in a rustic friendly atmosphere. Listen to one of our many live music performances and cut it up on the dance floor or sit by the fire on our peninsula and take in the views of Jefferson and Sawtell Peaks, both higher than 10,000 feet above sea level, as the sun sets behind them.

Finally, retire to one of our 1 bedroom cabins or our 2 bedroom cabins tucked privately away in the pines, or in one of the eight economical hotel rooms next to the main lodge. Our Luxury Cabins can accommodate large groups in a very beautiful and private setting on the lake front. We offer numerous room variations, from a king size bed and jacuzzi, perfect for a couples getaway, to rooms with multiple full size or queen size beds. Our cabins have a king bed or 2 queen beds in the room, a very comfortable futon that folds out into a queen size bed, and a loft for extra sleeping space. All rooms are equipped with a fireplace, mini fridge, microwave, satellite TV, and wireless internet for your comfort and convenience. Secluded RV spaces and Camping sites are also available here at Lakeside.

If you are looking to stay and play, Lakeside has a variety of Summer and Winter rentals onsite. Check out our Rentals pages to find more information.

On the banks of the Island Park Reservoir off Buttermilk Road, Lakeside Lodge’s origins go back to 1891, when A. S. Trude, a Chicago judge, purchased the land where the lodge now sits, as well as a large portion of Shotgun Valley and the Elk Creek area.

Trude left the lodge, known as Loc Leven Lodge, and surrounding acreage to his son, Dan. Dan used the lodge as a summer home for many years, but in 1948, he sold the building on 65 acres to Ivan P. Bills from Salt Lake City, along with an island in the reservoir Bills named I.P. Bills Island. Bills renamed the lodge Lakeside Lodge and operated it as a fishing lodge.

In 1953, Bills sold the lodge to Mel Berrett of Riverton, Utah. In 1963, Berrett sold it to Ross Covington of Rexburg, and in 1977 Covington sold it to Jim Christensen and Carl Hansen.

In the Spring of 2016, Lakeside Lodge was purchased by Blaine and Carolanne Miller.
